Windows 7 -  printer shown as offline when it's not....
I have an HP dv9000 series laptop which I upgraded to Windows 7 (clean install) 64-bit. I have a home wireless network with an HP C5100 series and a Dell desktop, Vista 32-bit). I upgraded my laptop in October and I've had no problem printing remotely until the last week. Now the printer is always displayed as offline in Windows 7 even when the printer is online. If I re-boot my laptop I can usually print once and then the printer is again displayed as offline. This is very frustrating and if anyone knows of a solution I'd appreicate it.Laptop = dv9720us, running a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium, 4 GB of RAMPrinter = HP C5180 Dell Inspiron Desktop, running Vista Home Premium, 32 bit. Thanks!Kathy

I'm making an assumption here that the printer is connected via USB to the Dell desktop with Vista. Is this correct? If so, see HP's troubleshooting that addresses the symptoms of an Offline printer http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00843712&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_us/c00843712/loc:8&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1153481&lang=en Hope that helps, let us know how it goesMCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
